Future forms of British co-operation: Introduction
T.F. Carbery and R.L. Marshall, p. 17
An encouragement to co-operators in recent years has been the diversification of co-operative organisation and it should be of service, for further analysis and for action, to review this development. Some of the main sectors are examined in turn: not all - for example, we have not been able to deal with co-operative banking or co-operative insurance and we hope their turn will come later. For each sector, the author was invited to consider its current situation and prospects, its relations with other sectors and the value of central services or institutions accessible to a range of sectors. The review is completed by a reassessment of the Co-operative Development Agency. As always, we are grateful to the contributors.
