The question of a single national federation has again been posed to the movement by a Co-operative Congress 1975 resolution and this Bulletin deals with various aspects of the issue. There is first a note by Mr Rose on the historical background and then, in rich and often contentious variety, a series of articles of different points of view. Each of our distinguished contributors is, of course, expressing his personal judgement and we - and the co-operative movement - are indebted to all of them for their analyses and assessments.
