Abstract

Early in1988, the Co-operative Party conference approved a motion which called on the party to 'undertake a major study on ways and means of encouraging the conversion of companies to a Co-operative or common ownership basis', and ' to ensure that there is a significant input of Co-operative ideas and principle, particularly in the field of the economy. into the Labour Party policy review'. This paper looks at how, as part of  Labour Part policy review, co-operative aims and techniques of organisation can and must be considered.
