Pål Vik is a senior research fellow at the University of Salford Business School. He has worked on over 40 externally funded projects on financial inclusion and community finance. He is especially interested in the role and effectiveness of credit unions in promoting financial inclusion, their financial resilience, and scaling up strategies.
He is an independent expert for the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision Steering Group and the credit code group of the Finance and Leasing Association

Pål has written a number of reports and articles including a short paper for the Journal of Co-operative Studies on the cost-of-living crisis on British credit unions and community lenders . He also hosts the Innovation in Financial Inclusion podcast
in which he explores innovative and emerging practice in financial inclusion.
Innovation in Financial Inclusion centres on radical, innovative interventions, policies and programmes to address financial exclusion, including financial literacy, affordable credit, savings and maximising income. Episodes will launch bi-weekly on a Wednesday and welcome high-profile names in the space to explore emerging and innovative financial inclusion policy and practice in the UK and beyond.
